Phnom Penh

So, what to do in Phnom Penh besides the Killing Fields? Surely there would be something interesting besides that. I would find that out for myselfgoing around and looking for cool stuff to do. Of course, visiting the night market is always fun.

Happy New Year! They had live performances for the market each night, a nice touch.

This is my cousin Chea. He came to pick me up at the hostel I stayed at, and we went for coffee before meeting the rest of the family here in Phnom Penh for dinner.

Dinner at a sushi restaurant.

The next day I went with the family to visit my dad's hometown in the countryside. It's 90km away from Phnom Penh, takes a couple hours by car to get there.

View up top.

Nice rustic feel to the home here.

Family photo.

I'd always wanted a pet cow.

Last shot before moving on.

Also went to visit my dad's school.

Visiting family was great, but I had one more day in Phnom Penh and decided to go visit the Royal Palace with Chea before leaving. The Royal Palace was a big place, with lots of things to see. This was one of the religious houses inside.

Another attraction. I like the gardening in the foreground.

Some of the traditional royal garments on display.

Monuments with the remains of former kings of Cambodia.

And one last lunch with the family!
